Sure, Toma was very attached to Dawson as a friend. She enjoyed being with him and especially fighting along-side him. However, there were just some things to do which Dawson couldn’t help with.
Toma and Dawson had been asked to help in a kitchen, which immediately eliminated any possibility of poison-typed Pokémon getting near the place. So, to solve the issue, Toma would take the task while Dawson would take another that didn’t involve him possibly poisoning any food.

“It won’t be so bad,” Toma had said. “This way, we’ll finish two things at the same time, and then we’ll have more time to goof off.”
